Veterans or current military dependents who qualify for the Post-9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33) or the VA Survivors and Dependents Education Assistance Program (Chapter 35) and who can produce a VA Certificate of Eligibility, may receive an annual Veterans Scholarship of 6,000€ (3,000€ each for fall and spring). You must submit your VA Certificate of Eligibility no later than the first day of classes to the sasaup.edu (AUP Certifying Official) to receive the Veterans Scholarship.

Once eligibility for the Post-9/11GI Bill is proven through your VA Certificate of Eligibility, we award the Veterans Scholarship automatically; you do not need to complete a separate application. The VA Certificate of Eligibility must be submitted to the sasaup.edu (AUP Certifying Official) prior to your first day of classes. Veterans Scholarships cannot be awarded retroactively or adjusted if you fail to notify the AUP Certifying Official before the deadline.
You may choose to apply for AUP institutional financial aid well in advance of receiving your VA Certificate of Eligibility. AUP regularly awards a significant amount of need-based financial aid and other scholarships to veteran students. If you qualify for a Veteran Scholarship and receive any other AUP institutional financial aid, you will receive the larger award; you may not combine the Veterans Scholarship with any other financial aid awards.
*IMPORTANT: Those students who qualify for the Yellow Ribbon Program through the Post-9/11 GI Bill should NOT apply for AUP institutional financial aid given that the program already covers tuition and fees in most cases.
The Veterans Scholarship is awarded to degree-seeking students who are registered full-time (between 12 and 18 credits) in the fall and spring semesters and will not be adjusted upward for course overloads. Part-time students will have their awards pro-rated, using a percentage based on 12 full-time credits. However, students are not eligible for the award in their first semester if their first semester at AUP is part-time. Students beginning in the spring semester would qualify for half of the annual amount. The maximum annual amount of the award for the academic year (fall, spring, and summer semesters) is 6,000€. To continue receiving the Veterans Scholarship each year, you must be in good academic standing at AUP. The Veterans Scholarship is not available to non-degree-seeking (visiting) students.
