The Bachelor's/Master's Program

The Bachelor's/Master's Program

The Bachelor's/Master's Program at The American University of Paris is a way for motivated, currently-enrolled undergraduate students at AUP to begin working towards a combined Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degree during their senior year. Through careful course selection, students taking this option can earn double credit by taking two Master鈥檚 level courses as part of an undergraduate degree, saving money on their postgraduate studies while, in some cases, graduating a semester early, and securing an early and expedited acceptance.

A combined Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degree offers both the academic grounding of AUP鈥檚 global liberal arts undergraduate curriculum and the specialization of postgraduate study. By accelerating your Master鈥檚 program, you鈥檒l be taking graduate-level courses with postgraduate students as part of your Bachelor鈥檚 degree requirements. It鈥檚 an option that requires dedication and hard work, but will prepare you well to enter the workforce with a graduate degree ahead of your peers.

A Combined Degree in Three Bullet Points

  • Start Your Master鈥檚 Early: Take one Master鈥檚 level course (4 credits) in each semester of your senior year of undergraduate studies.
  • Earn Double Credit: 8 credits will count toward both your Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 requirements.
  • Save Money: Graduate having taken fewer total courses across two degrees, reducing your tuition costs and general expenses.

How It Works

Our Bachelor's/Master's Program lets you take one graduate-level course in each semester of your senior year of undergraduate studies. You will be able to assign 8 credits from these courses to both your Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degree requirements.

You can combine ANY undergraduate major with ANY of AUP鈥檚 Master鈥檚 programs. Depending on how closely your chosen disciplines align, graduate courses taken during your Bachelor鈥檚 will either contribute to the major鈥檚 core requirements or be applied toward open elective credit. If the latter case, it is important to plan carefully to ensure you have elective credits left in your senior year to apply for the Bachelor's/Master's Program.

You must submit an before beginning the second semester of your Junior year, including a completed Degree Worksheet that maps out all your remaining courses and includes two graduate courses, one each semester, in your senior year.
